Is it illegal for a realtor to write a home purchase for a higher amount than what the house was pur

My Realty company and Title Agency wrote up my home purchase at 132,000 when I actually only paid 117,000 (full amt of loan I borrowed). Then there is a line in between these two figures that says CASH:15,000. I don't understand what is happening here. I was a first time home buyer that had a mortgage broker who never secured my loan when I gave the go to buy the house. 2 1/ 2 months later and 1 day before I was supposed to close on the house, she called me and said that she needed 6k more down payment. She left my credit open for inquiry from banks for over 2 months and my credit score dropped from 730 to 560 and no one would give me a loan at that point. My realtor then took me to another mortgage company who got me the worst loan, but they told me I had to take it because I was legally obligated to buy the house. This is where the purchase/loan/cash numbers come in above. I know this is a lot of info, but I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do or anyone I can sue?

There is a contingency period in the real estate purchase contract that says you have this many days to get your loans straight and if you don't, you drop out of escrow. It sounds to me either that option was eliminated by your buying agent or they lied to you and pressured you to close the deal so that they would get paid.

It seems you will be taking to court a few people. :)

Contact an attorney and don't relent. People like that give the whole industry a bad name!

call the real estate commission for the state you bought the house in. they are there to protect the public... you. They may advise you to contact an attorney... which is probably what you will have to do. good luck.

From the sound of things, you need to report the real estate firm AND the title firm to which agency in your state oversees those organizations. My guess is both are involved in what is called LENDER FRAUD. Both conspired to overprice the home, indicating that you were putting down $15,000 in cash, so that you would qualify for the loan involved, even though you were only paying $117,000.

You need to contact an attorney to represent your interests as well. And I hope you did NOT agree to sign that loan. Take all papers you have to that attorney and ask for a full review.
